Four locals were represented at the Aug 14, meeting of CalTURN - San Juan Teachers Association, Poway Federation of Teachers, Hart District Teachers Association, and Santa Monica-Malibu Teachers Association - the first step in defining a new focus for one of the original TURN regional networks.

Great Lakes TURN to Convene November 8-9, 2010
The Great Lakes TURN will meet in the Chicago area on November 8-9, 2010. GL TURN participants will continue to explore the topic of improving teacher effectiveness by focusing on the use of student growth data in teacher evaluation and compensation systems. MASE Holds Second Meeting
Local Leaders from Mid-Atlantic-Southeast TURN (MASE) met July 16-17, 2010, to continue development of local and regional plans. The agenda included presentations and conversations on teacher compensation and on preparation and support of new teachers.
TURN is a nationwide network of more than 50 union locals promoting progressive reforms in education and in teacher unions - to improve student acheivement, increase teacher connectivity, and elevate teachers' voices in the reform debate.
TURN is developing a network of Regional Networks to address key areas that are integral to the building of learning communities within TURN and transforming the culture within teacher unions to better serve teachers and their students:
